Technorati 2008 blog survey

Technorati the blog search engine, has released a survey of blogs and bloggers based on nearly 1300 response in 66 countries. (550 in the states, 350 in Europe and 173 in Asia, is that a valid statistical sample ?).
A few things stand out

The mean annual revenue is $6,000 ! I find that truly incredible. It’s a lot if its coming from simple adwords
Four in five bloggers post brand or product reviews ! read : Armageddon for top down, one to many marketing strategies
95% of the blogs have not been updated in the last 3 months

However, when you look at the details, the survey is really about top popular blogs, which enjoy thousands of visitors per month. But still an interesting read.
