  1. Youtube’s trafic
  2. According to the IHT, “Last year, by one estimate, the video site YouTube, owned by Google, consumed as much bandwidth as the entire Internet did in 2000“.

  3. P2P most downloaded
  4. According to a study made by torrentfreakthe well known P2P blog, “50% Of All BitTorrent Downloads are TV-Shows”. This tends to show that piracy is fulled by the poor choice offered by classic media channels.

The fact that one third of the UK citizens can be labeled as a pirate is thus a signal that these customers want something that is not available through other channels. It’s more about availability than the fact that it’s free.

TorrentFreak : Piracy is caused by poor choice.

  5. 1Mb by SMS
  6. SMS are outrageously expensive! SMS generate $1400 $ per megabyte of data. Mobile voice by comparison only costs 0.60$ to 1.90 $ per megabyte.

  7. Radio or mobile phones?
  8. The number of mobile phones is estimated at 3,3 billion while there are only 2,2 billion radios.

  9. How many US teens on Social Networks ?
  10. 55% of online American Teenagers have a profile on one or more social network and 48% of them say social networks are part of their daily life.
Waoh ! Talk about a generation revolution ! In my youth the big trend was about commercially delivered entertainment products such as japanese cartoons, Spiderman and Disco. Nothing as big as a whole generational new behavior and way of life.
