PRINCE2 is a piece of cake compared to Yu-Gi-Oh
February 23, 2008 – 9:26 pm
Today, I began to play Yu-Gi-Oh with my 7 year old son. Yu gi Oh is a card game, similar to pokemon or magic that is played on schools all over the world. The rules are quite simple but the complexity of the game comes from the fact that the game is based upon hundreds of different cards, most of which having special rules, different types of attacks and invocations, several kind of monsters with special powers and zones and places with special meaning.
After 45mn and three games (2 to 1 for me) my head was exploding from trying to figure out what specific cards explanation such as the following one could mean :
While this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned, you can place 1 “Crystal Beast” monster from your hand, deck, or Graveyard face-up in your Spell & Trap Card Zone; it is treated as a Continuous Spell Card. If this card if destroyed while its is in a Monster Card Zone, you can place it face-up in your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.
It sounds great but what does it really mean ?
Compared to that PRINCE 2 is but a piece of cake !

It means when it is “putted” on the field you search your deck for a card that has Crystal Beast in your deck and put in your Spell & Trap Zone as long as it is there it is as it would be a continous spell, when destroyed it goes to the spells as well…Pretty easy I think…

Hey ! I know what the card means ! I do play Yu-Gi-Oh with my 7 year old son. But the Yu-Gi-Oh terminology is far from being straight forward seen from the outside. There is a parallel to make between this card game and PRINCE2, a very serious project management methodology which in its way is also a bit challenging if you want to become familiar with.

I play Yugioh so I will explain:
Crystal Beast Monsters are certain monsters that when destroyed can be treated as a continous spell card in the spell and trap card zone…anyway there are other cards that use those cards to your advantage like the field Spell Ancient City Rainbow ruins there are many other cards that go with these kinds of cards like if you typed on google Crystal Beast deck people help others to make a better deck.
