PRINCE2 simpler, easier, friendlier

If you believe you do not need a whole project board and your budget does not allow for the whole conundrum. Patrick Mayfield from pearcemayfield writes on the pmtoolbox web site about workshops on what he calls other flavors of PRINCE2. Less oriented towards the certification and more focused on the practicability of project management
Foundations of Project Management which integrates general skills with using Microsoft Project
Practical Project Management, for a hands-on emphasis, learning by doing,
Complete Project Management for an immersion in comprehensive project management principles and techniques.
Similarly, the PRINCE lite framework was conceived as a mix between PRINCE2, RUP and the original waterfall.
I have also found that implementing the whole PRINCE2 by the book is a bit exagerated when you are managing a 70k€ project with 1 supplier and nobody else but your direct boss to report to. I just could not find anyone to take on the role of Project Assurance or Senior Customer or Senior User.
